A core group of these girls in 10/3s last year. So with 1 addition and 1 return they approached this season as a group of 9 players. The girls worked together as a friendly group and this is a big part of why they play so well together as a team.
They key to their success has been the way that all the girls worked hard in defence. They marked man on man in every game and forced the opposition into errors. In attack they were effective and this was born out in good results all season and a great gala day performance.
The girls were good and regular in training and listened to positional strategy and went out to try new ideas and make them work. During the season they worked hard and finished 2nd – equal on points but better on percentages than Dundas United.
The mammoth major semi against North Ryde was one of the best games of junior netball you could hope for. A full game passed and then extra time passed to get a difference of 2. 15 more minutes of coninual play occurred before they were finally beaten. The court was surrounded by onlookers. It was electric. The grand final was not as great a game but the girls played hard and were just beaten on the day. Well done girls! Thanks so much to all the parents and to Judy Kenny our wonderful manager.

Wow! What a big year for the under 10s division 4. Most of the girls had played some sort of netball with PSSA at school but had never played for Ravens. Therefore all the girls were new to playing for the club and the big commitment of playing on Saturdays and practicing through the week.
I must say it was an absolute pleasure to have coached this team because you never know what you are going to get especially when this division is too young for grading. Well, the heavens must have been shining on the day they put this team together. This team did not only win the championship for their division, they also were a shining example of sportsmanship. They were always respectful, well mannered and could always listen to what I had to say and then put it into action. Well done team, you have played in the spirit of the game and have made the club very proud of you all.
I want to thank all the parents of this team who were also committed to their daughters playing a wonderful season of netball. These parents encouraged and supported the girls by dropping them at practice and Saturdays on time. The team parents (and some of the grandparents) were always respectful of the team, the coach, the manager, the umpires and the other teams.
As I say, it was an absolute pleasure to have these young ladies under my care (as a coach) for this season. May all my girls go on to enjoy all the sports you play and look on this season with fond memories.

Netball – end of season wrap up
It’s hard to believe that we are coming to an end of yet another season. The time has gone so fast. I want to thank Cathy Inglis and Nicole Gibbs for their invaluable help in running the seniors for me. A big thank you to Debbie Randell who ran the umpiring, making sure that everything ran smoothly, or as smoothly as can be. And to all my coaches and managers, for volunteering their time in looking after the teams, and making sure that the girls had a good time I can’t thank you enough. I hope to see you all next year. To all the umpires that helped the club this year without their dedication the teams would not be able to take to the court.

Debbie Randell does a magnificent job running the umpiring. But this is a big job, and she would really appreciate some help, no matter how small. We can’t run without volunteers, it makes the big jobs easier, so if you would like to help out next season, please contact Debbie on debrandell21@hotmail.com.
CADET 3 – netball report
This team didn’t make it through to the finals, but they sure had a great time trying. They were quite often down to 6 players, but that didn’t dampen their enthusiasm, even when they were playing against teams that were better than they were. With the unstoppable goal keeper, fun loving goalies, dynamic little centre and the rest of our goofy team they made it fun.
